MFA Alum Liliana Farber’s artwork has been acquired by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London!
“From the series “Isolarii,” Untitled No. 3, and the series “Terram in Aspectu,” are now part of the museum’s permanent collection thanks to the kind support of the Parasol Foundation. Isolarii (2021) is a series of printed digital images that portray antique world representations recreated as data collages made with Google Earth satellite imagery. Terram in Aspectu (2019) is a series of satellite photography (generated by a machine learning algorithm trained on Google Earth) of non-existent islands that appeared in historical maps but were proven not to exist.”
Liliana Farber’s artwork is also featured in the exhibition “Darwin: Origins & Evolution,” now on view at the Farol Santander in Porto Alegre. “The show features works by contemporary artists, iconography, and collections from Brazilian and international institutions. It explores research prior to Darwin, his studies on domesticated species, the relationship of his theory to time, his journey aboard the Beagle, and his visit to Brazilian lands. Liliana will be showing the series “Terram in Aspectu”. The exhibition will run through January 14th, 2024.”
