Matthew Jeffrey Abrams is an essayist, critic, and art historian. His first book, a monograph on the painter Stanley Whitney, is forthcoming with Lund Humphries. His work has appeared in The Guardian, Conjunctions, BOMB Magazine, Even Magazine, Word & Image, Apricota, and numerous exhibition catalogs. He lives and works in Brooklyn.
