Eugene Ofori Agyei

Eugene Ofori Agyei (b. 1993) is a ceramic sculptural and installation artist whose artistic practice is
informed by his position as a Ghanian currently living in Gainesville, Florida. He graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana with a BA in Industrial Art, majoring in Ceramics in 2018. Eugene has had a solo exhibition in 4most SAAH Gallery (FL), and his work has been included in group shows in Turkey, Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art (FL), University of Delaware-Taylor Hall Gallery (DE), GFAA Gallery (FL), Stanley Museum of Art, Iowa, Coco Hunday (FL), Alvarez Gallery (CT), Watershed Center Gallery (ME), Morean Art Center (FL), University of Central Florida Art Gallery (FL), Saratoga Clay Arts Center Gallery (NY), Caroline M. Wilson Gallery, University of South Florida (FL), Grizzly Grizzly Gallery (PA), Rollins Museum of Art (FL), among others. His awards include the 2020/2021 University of Florida Grinter Fellowship award, the 2022 Artaxis Fellowship award, the 2021 Zenobia awardee at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts and Best of Show from The In Art Gallery’s social change and open theme exhibition. Agyei is also the recipient of the 2022 National Council on Education for Ceramic Arts (NCECA) Graduate Student Fellowship, the 2022 National Council on Education for Ceramic Arts (NCECA) Multicultural Fellowship award, and the Pathways 2022: The Carlos Malamud Prize for emerging artists in Florida. His upcoming solo exhibitions will be at Art Center Sarasota (FL) in the Winter of 2023 and Rollins Museum of Art (FL) in the summer of 2023. https://eugeneagyeiarts.com/
