Adriane Colburn’s research-based sculptural installations investigate complex relationships between human infrastructure, earth systems, technology and the natural world. She has participated in scientific expeditions in the Arctic, the Amazon, and at sea, and has exhibited throughout the US and internationally, including at Smack Mellon and Sheila Johnson Design Center in NYC; Luggage Store Gallery and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco; and Royal Academy of Art in London. Artist residencies include the Cape Farewell Project, Headlands Center for the Arts, Macdowell Colony, Kala Institute, and The Blue Mountain Center. She currently teaches at Bard College.
