Cullen writes: “Like Frankenthaler, my work is about the experience of nature and the feeling of place. She once commented, “Anything that has beauty and provides order (rather than chaos or shock alone), anything resolved in a picture (as in nature) gives pleasure-a sense of rightness, as in being one with nature.” My dad used to say, “Son you got to feel for God”. That is what I am after, the feeling of the divine. My work is about the experience of the divine in nature through matter and light; what I call TerraChroma.”
