My work documents fragmented psychological landscapes, as well as the distorted and fleeting nature of memory. Over time, memories and ideas of who we are ebb, flow, fracture, and break. When I paint, I put the fragmented pieces of myself back together. My paintings act as a projection of my inner world; a world existing subconsciously through space and time. I work intuitively, letting my inner compass navigate my paint brush through the work until there is an instinctive feeling of compositional balance. Often the result parallels the natural world through color and gesture. The canvas is a mirror for the beauty and darkness within my mind; my lens allows me to paint familiar imagery where I feel my past, present and future coexist. I aim to give my inner world a new structure… a new and curious life.
