Born in London, U.K., Cara Nahaul received her MFA in Fine Arts at Parsons The New School For Design in 2014 and was the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship. She won the Heart of England prize at the National Open Art Competition (2009) and was selected for the John Moores Painting Prize at the Walker Art Gallery for the Liverpool Biennial (2010). Nahaul was chosen for the inaugural Jerwood Painting Fellowships (2011). She completed a yearlong studio residency at the Florence Trust, London (2015) and was nominated for the Contemporary British Painting Prize (2017).

Recent solo and two-person exhibitions include Crossing the Tropic, Christine Park Gallery, London (2015) and Another Country, with Matthew Krishanu, The Nunnery, London (2014). She has shown in numerous group exhibitions such as Contemporary British Painting Prize, Orleans House Gallery, London (2017), Beginnings, National Assembly, Seoul, Lodger, Westminster Reference Library, London (2017), Summer Exhibition, Florence Trust, London (2015), unFOLD, Enclave Projects, London (2015), The Trouble With Painting Today, Pump House Gallery, London (2014), Before, The Kitchen, New York (2014), and Painting the Pixel, Gallery North, Newcastle (2014).

She currently lives and works in London.
