Nontobeko Ntombela is a Johannesburg-based curator. She currently works as a lecturer at the Wits School of Arts where she has been developing the postgraduate program in curatorial and exhibition practices. Previously, she worked as a curator at the Johannesburg Art Gallery, the Durban Institute of Technology Art Gallery, KZN heritage council and BAT centre. Some of her curatorial projects include SOLO (2018), Two Talking Yonis (2013), A Fragile Archive (2012); MTN New Contemporaries (2010); Layers (2010); Modern Fabrics (2008); From Here to There (2007). She has participated in numerous international programs and has presented papers in local and international conferences. Ntombela has served on the National Arts Council, Visual Arts Network of South Africa board, Arts for Human Rights Trust Board, KwaZulu Natal Society of Arts KZNSA committee, the African Art Centre board and the Art and Culture and Tourism Department Cultural Board.

This Visiting Curator is being co-hosted by the Vera List Center for Art and Politics. Ntombela will be participating in the inagural Vera List Center Forum 2018 from October 4-5.
