Born in Afghanistan and based in New York, Ahmady is an independent curator/ educator who directs Asia Contemporary Art Week (ACAW) —a curatoria/educational platform that brings together leading New York and Asia-based museums and galleries for exhibitions & dialogues with 2000+ presented artists from all Asian regions. A dOCUMENTA 13 curatorial team member, she has also organized exhibitions/ programs at MoMA, Mathaf Arab Museum of Modern Art (Doha Qatar), ICI, and the Istanbul and Venice Biennials. Her writing is published in Flash Art, ART21, ArtAsiaPacific, Ibraaz, Creative Time Reports, Manifesta Journal, and more.
