Aruna d’Souza

Aruna D’Souza is a writer and critic whose work focuses on modern and contemporary art, intersectional feminisms, globalism, and cultural critique. She is author of Cézanne’s Bathers: Biography and the Erotics of Paint (Penn State, 2008), and has co-edited several volumes, including most recently Art History in the Wake of the Global Turn (Yale, 2014). Her writings on contemporary art have appeared in exhibition catalogues (including MoMA’s Modern Women and, most recently, LACMA’s Toba Khedoori), as well as publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Bookforum, Art in America, Time Out New York. She is a regular contributor to the recently-launched art magazine 4columns.org, and is working on a volume of collected essays about art and politics by Linda Nochlin. In addition, she writes the popular food blog Kitchen Flânerie.
