Visiting artist lecture with Grimanesa Amorós, an interdisciplinary artist with diverse interests in the fields of social history, scientific research and critical theory. Through her art she conveys an ephemeral wonder, often drawing inspiration from Peruvian cultural legacies. Her sculpture, video and large-scale light-based installations illuminate our notions of personal identity and community. Amorós has exhibited her work in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America, and was a guest speaker of TEDGlobal 2014, a recipient of NEA Visual Artist Fellowship, NEA Artist Travel Grant, and the U.S. Art In Embassies Program.
Grimanesa Amorós visited Parsons School of Art and Design on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.
