Join MFA Fine Arts alumni, Luciana Pinchiero, artist, and Buzz Slutzky, artist and educator, for a conversation discussing the themes, processes, techniques, and references in Pinchiero’s exhibition Bad Posture. The event will be held on February 24 at 4pm at Praxis Gallery NYC (501 W 20th St, New York).
Buzz Slutzky (they/them) is a non-binary/transgender and Jewish multidisciplinary artist, educator, writer, filmmaker, and performer based in Brooklyn, New York. Buzz’s practice often juxtaposes text and image through film/video, drawing, performance, pyrography (woodburning) and other mediums. Slutzky has exhibited work at BRIC, The Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, The Leslie Lohman Museum, Boston Center for the Arts, La Mama, Dixon Place, the MIX Film Festival, Frameline, among others. They are a 2022 MacDowell Fellow, and a 2021-22 BRICLab resident. They currently teach filmmaking at The New School and School of Visual Arts (SVA).
Luciana Pinchiero (she/her) was born in Rosario, Argentina and migrated to the US to finish her studies in art. She received her MFA from Parsons The New School (NYC), and her BFA from Otis College of Arts and Design, (Los Angeles). Her work has been shown in museums, art spaces and galleries in New York City, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Argentina, France and Iceland. She is the recipient of the LungA School Residency Fellowship in Seyðisfjörður, Iceland and she has participated in the 38th cycle of the Artist in the Marketplace program (AIM) at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. Luciana lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
