One Version of Events
Like the Wislawa Szyimborska poem it is named for, which chronicles the deliberations of disembodied beings offered the possibility of human existence, Neil Goldberg’s One Version of Events contemplates the strange situation of finding oneself alive in a body, in a particular place and time, needing to consume other living organisms to survive. Comprised of numerous modular stories and visual elements spanning a range of media and formal strategies, the work will assume the form of an exhibition and a site for live performance all at once.
