“A “Womanhouse” or a Roaming House? “A Room of One’s Own” Today” is a group exhibition curated by Parsons Faculty Mira Schor January 9 – February 2, 2014. The exhibition addressesquestions similar to those posited by the original historic exhibition Womanhouse, but through a contemporary lens: What is the space nec-ecessary for an artist to make art in and for whom? What are the implications of the gendering of space, who owns domestic space, and is creativity more a private pursuit or a public one? Artists include recent Parsons MFAs including Caitlin Rueter, Jen Water, Rebecca Volinsky, Kalena Patton, and collaborative team Sara Jimenez and Kaitlynn Redell. See website for special programming during the run of the exhibition.
