Taryn Simon works with photography, sculpture, text, sound, and performance to make visible the contours of power and authority hidden within familiar systems and organizations. She is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and her work has been exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, the Guggenheim, and the Whitney, in New York; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Tate Modern, London; Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Moscow; Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing; Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; and the Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin.
This event will take the form of an in-depth conversation between the artist and guest curator Kate Fowle. They will be discussing a number of recent projects by the artist.
