Milagros de la Torre’s practice involves extensive research in projects centered in the analysis of image language, the individual and violence. Working with the photographic medium since 1991, she received the Rockefeller Foundation Grant, Young Ibero-american Creators Prize, the Guggenheim and Dora Maar Fellowships. Her work has been exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo, Fondation Cartier, Museo Nacional Reina Sofia, International Center of Photography, Americas Society, The Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Phoenix Art Museum, Museo de Arte de Lima, II Johannesburg Biennale, VI Habana Biennale.
