ektor garcia is a Mexico and elsewhere based artist born in Red Bluff, California in 1985. garcia creates mixed media sculptures and installations utilizing craft techniques, natural materials, travels, and time. Throughout his practice, he develops a lexicon of crochet, weaving and fiber work, including the use of ceramic, metal, leatherwork, found materials and the principles of assemblage. His work has been shown in Casa Luis Barragan, Mexico City, Cabaret Voltaire, Zurich, Empty Gallery, Hong Kong, the New Museum, and SculptureCenter NY.
