Born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Tara Asgar is a multidisciplinary transgender artist, educator, and activist who infuses themes of gender and desire into her works. Currently based in Brooklyn, Tara employs public performances, text, and videos as her medium to explore the intricacies of queerness and initiate discourse around topics of displacement, trauma, and migration. She earned her BFA from the University of Dhaka and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
