God or the Equivalent lives in those moments when the materials of an artistic practice take over the creative process. Picture the delighted eyes of a potter as she pulls her pot from the kiln to discover the glaze had performed its own creative miracle. Artists have the restraint to allow chance into their practice as if it were a co-creator and companion.
