The Women’s Caucus for Art awards ceremony

There is also a ticketed reception that precedes the ceremony that will include an
open bar and small plates.
Parsons School of Design Fine Arts faculty Mira Schor and LJ Roberts are 2019 recipients of
awards from the Women’s Caucus for Art. Schor, a noted artist and writer will receive a WCA
Lifetime Achievement Award for her work as a feminist painter, art historian, and critic.
Roberts, an artist and writer who addresses queer and trans identities using a multitude of
creative tactics, will be honored with the President’s Award for Art and Activism. The award
recognizes an emerging or mid-career artist whose life and work exemplifies WCA’s mission of
creating community through art, education, and social activism.
In addition to Schor, Lifetime achievement awards are being presented to Olga de Amaral, Mary
Beth Edelson, and Gladys Barker Grauer. Aruna D’Souza will accept the President’s Award for
Art and activism along with Roberts.
