Lindsay Benedict presents us with fragments and gestures that examine and question social relations. In her work, affect and raw emotion are often deployed to disrupt and destabilize any simple reading of human connections. Benedict lives in Brooklyn and has shared her work at Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers, Le Confort Moderne, Antonio Ratti Foundation, Pacific Film Archive, Berkeley Art Museum and New Langton Arts; and in New York City at Jack Hanley Gallery, Bose Pacia, PARMER, Rotunda and PS 122. She has performed at The Tank, Dixon Place, Eden’s Expressway and in the Movement Research 2009 Spring Festival. She received a BA from Williams College, an MFA from UC Berkeley and was a studio fellow in the Whitney Independent Study Program.
