Artist Statement

Same as Bio: Guangyuan (Sam) Xing is an interdisciplinary artist based in New York City, originally from China. Xing is the founder of the Dawn Eleven Contemporary Art Foundation, dedicated to supporting emerging artists and curators with fellowships, site-specific exhibitions, and research projects. Xing is a 2025 MFA candidate in Fine Arts at the Parsons School of Design. He holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts. His work explores the many relationships between emotion, memory, space, and abstraction. Working across Installation, sculpture, video, and painting, Xing sets up ongoing dialogues with himself and the world through a process of introspection and metaphor. Xing thinks through ephemerality and nostalgia to portray life’s challenges. Selected exhibitions include: “Lion King Anniversary” (Minskoff Theater, June 2023), “Art History 101: A Brush With Fashion” (Madison Avenue, Business Improvement District, April 2023).
