Moving forward, it saw moments of great beauty (2017 – ongoing) is a four inch continuous watercolour strip which unfurls as a set of scenes, landscapes, and moments which feed into one another. The work also exists digitally, and can be scrolled through on a screen. It is currently approximately twenty meters (sixty five feet) long, and has no official beginning or end, although I hope to commit to it indefinitely. The work develops out of the joy of painting and the experience of a separate world as found on two dimensions. The process of painting often comes to an attempt to simplify a landscape, a scene, a moment, and trust in a human capability to read colours and shapes organized on a strip as more than the sum of their parts and invent a space which does not exist.
