Parsons is pleased to present the BFA Fine Arts class of 2020
This website celebrates the artwork of graduating students in painting, sculpture, video, installation, performance and other media, showcasing the depth and breadth of our students’ approaches to artmaking. Our students were unable to mount a thesis exhibition this spring due to the global lockdown enforced by the Coronavirus pandemic. We are however committed gathering again at Parsons and exhibiting thesis work once it is safe to do so.
Parsons Fine Arts BFA students are exposed to a wide range of innovative studio practices through our interdisciplinary program and our renowned Visiting Artist Lecture Series. Students learn traditional techniques and are also supported in working innovatively and pushing the boundaries of what contemporary art can be. Parsons Fine Arts provides a potent learning community through its commitment to diversity amongst faculty and students. Housed within both Parsons School of Design and The New School University, the Fine Arts program is uniquely positioned within a progressive educational environment. Research and scholarship are a fundamental part of our curriculum and is reflected in our students’ ability to critically consider their practice within a global context.
