Artist Statement

I interchangeably use Painting, drawing, and collage to address issues of power, control, liberty, and agency. The painterly interventions are a way to disrupt and mock the norms and normality of dominant socio-political systems, push or challenge their rigid absurd boundaries, and represent their influence on and intervention in every aspect of the private domestic life. Based on deformation rather than abstraction, The work attempts to empathize with and analyze the modern human condition and existence in the biopolitical reality. Whether these attempts are disturbing, comforting, or merely reflective is open to and dependent on the viewer’s experience and perception of his own reality and that of the world he lives in.
