Theologian Walter Brueggemann describes prophetic acts as moments that catalyze a process from numbness through grief, to then embodying new forms of being and living with one another. The prophetic finds itself within the recognition of the world as it is. This recognition is what drives transformation, and demands that we see what we do not wish to see. Transcending traditional forms of understanding, and viewing not only what is legible of one another, we can embrace being wholly seen. My practice is the result of a multitude of experiences that require the recognition of all their nuances in order to prompt a new way of viewing oneself, and in turn each other.
