My work this semester explores the experience that our minds go through when altering or exploring consciousness. Consciousness is something intangible that is possessed by everyone, but that is not always explored. To be conscious is to be aware of our existence in the universe and feel grounded in our existence. This project aims to explore different ways of weaving in and out of the “normal” state of mind. The photographs are an attempt to translate stepping out of our “normal” state, in hopes that stepping back into it will teach us to externalize, materialize, and express our new internal perspectives.
