This thesis is a visual box of mementoes from experiences that influence how I view the world. My book is formed of three main concepts: Ecuador, queerness and their intersection. There are 3 objects that belong to each section that tells the story of why they are special. The work dives into narratives through illustration, photo collage and text. These stories are the memories that make me who I am. Although these texts are told as I experienced them, the stories have different meanings when you revisit them. Some objects can unravel with the snip of a scissor-like a knitted blanket while others only change at the hand of extreme heat like a silver ring. They contain smells and tastes that can unlock memories buried deep within our mind.  Our belongings are the evidence of love and protection, self-realization and confusion. All of the objects in my thesis have weight, and my intention of sharing them is to take the reader on my journey. I also invite the reader to find the significance of objects around them, how they are able to transcend time and distance.
