Linda Badgley

Linda Badgley is a Canadian writer and photographer based in New York City. Her work often deals with her personal past and the attempt to find stability within memory.

I decided to search for silence. By investigating various places in Upstate New York and Ontario, I am desiring to reflect on the silence that formed my childhood. Silence is memory, silence is home, silence is the space between words in conversation, somehow holding more weight than the words themselves.

Through written fragments, black & white photographs of small towns as well as portraits of my family, I am exploring that silence is amorphous, vast, and can act as a tool to recall and recount in an attempt to hold onto what has been lost.
