when you walk underneath the afternoon sun do you talk to your shadow?

when you walk under the afternoon sun do you talk to your shadow? Do you walk beside it, or do you turn it away? Before I was born, I witnessed violence. It’s in the air. A constant string of manipulation, greed, self loathing and selfishness that consciously follows. By creating redactions of my father in my family archive, I acknowledge that he is in my shadow. I am exploring the effects of generational trauma through the lens of domestic abuse and love.
