  • Noah O’Leary’s practice involves looking and thinking between the real and surreal. His work investigates the tenderness and resistance implicit in photographs and stillness.

  • “Dear Mary, Dear Martha” is a diaristic and hypnotic exploration into the pasts and futures of tenderness. The book begins with text and evolves into a confluence of performance and memory. The images explore personal symbols from my night terrors and dreams. The body and camera play synonymous roles as interpreters of light and time to build an archeology of tenderness that is composed of opposites and the space in between them. This project is a traveling through time and a benevolence towards the opposing forces that exist in all time.

Throughout the last year I have worked with my peers as a co-organizer of Unbound, an immersive online experience showcasing the works of the 2021 photography class. unboundgallery.com.
