  • Elizabeth Park (b. 1999) is a Korean- American artist born in Los Angeles, California, and now located in Brooklyn, New York, Park received her BFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design.

  • “Nunchi” is an identity driven piece, performed in public and photographed for documentation. Her thesis started as a therapeutic act as a way of outgrowing her fears of shame and guilt that were induced from her Asian-American upbringing. Invoking her past as a competitive figure skater, she uses her latent performative skills to create her projects as a way of sublimating her childhood into her adult life. Her photos comment on race and the model minority myth– subverting Asian American stereotypes through destructive acts for public display. She challenges behavioral norms through action by throwing tantrums and screaming in public spaces both crowded or silent in New York and Los Angeles.
