Thesis

Rachel Rabin creates photo and video work that blends elements of the natural world to isolate moments of beauty and opens portals to new worlds and parallel dimensions.

My body of work is a collection of video and still images merging the moments that remind me of the power that the universe holds. A body emerging from branches of a pine tree and  evaporating into the fog, a tunnel through a mountain that leads to a grassy forest, and a swim through the clouds towards a mountain in the sky.  Leaves blowing in the wind as if alive on the branches, light dancing on water, bodies flowing, hands reaching for warmth, for connection, for love, all blended together to create moments that hold feelings of endless possibilities. These moments are portals to different dimensions where the limits of our reality are questioned and do not exist.
