John Ralston is a photographer based in Connecticut. His current work is focusing on the economic divide in the United States.

Sickness in the Northeast is a project illustrating the impact of the pandemic in New England.  The impact ranges from decline in mental health to the economic downturn the virus has caused.  In this project I am highlighting problems in the United States’ economic system to show that much of the pain caused by the virus could have been avoided.  I am connecting the economic hardship with the declination of mental health to show how much of an impact the virus has had.  In doing so, I am hoping that the work will spark dialogue regarding how we got here as a country and how we can work towards a more equitable future for all.
