Beating a Dead Horse is an examination of the way we see through the exploration of nothingness. In the field of art, we’ve been conditioned to believe that every detail within a body of work must have meaning, but my work challenges this idea. Humans seek meaning within their lives, for what would we be without it? Through this search, the duality of nothingness and everything became apparent; it is a paradox. What we take from these layered images and how we make sense of them is entirely personal.  I’m reflecting back to the viewer precisely what we spend time avoiding, ourselves.
