This summer, The School of Fashion and the New York City Economic Development Corporation will be putting on Fashion Talent Week 2014. It’s a 5-day program consisting of workshops, lectures, industry tours, and panel discussions regarding the business of the fashion industry. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of designing, building, implementing, and maintaining Web-based applications, online portals, and Internet marketing technologies. The candidate will work closely with an already appointed web designer and implement the programming aspect of building the site.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and make changes as the program develops.
Required qualifications/skills include:
- 3+ years of solid professional experience in Web design, implementation, and architecture
- Competency in XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with Web trends and best practices for UX/UI design
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
- Experience with scripting technologies (ASP, PHP, or JavaScript)
- Experience with the systems development life cycle and application design
- Experience in Web design, development, testing/debugging, implementation, documentation, and operations in medium-to-large enterprise environments
- Ability to provide technical thought leadership to clients and nontechnical employees
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated strength in problem-solving and effective decision-making
- Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently, and to manage complex and simultaneous projects
- Excellent oral/written communication skills to clearly convey information to upper management and clients
- Ability to serve as a technical resource and mentor to users, clients, and other team members
- Experience with AfterEffects a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or commensurate experience
