The Museum of Food and Drink (MOFAD) Seeks Volunteer Web Developer

POSITION: Volunteer Web Developer

The Museum of Food and Drink (MOFAD) is looking for a Volunteer Web Developer to assist in the maintenance and expansion of the organization’s website – www.mofad.org. We are seeking an approximately 5-10 hour per week commitment, with most of the work done at the beginning of the project. This position can be done remotely, but would require strong communication with the MOFAD staff and availability via both phone and email.

This position is unpaid, but is an excellent opportunity to get in on the ground floor as we build a first-of-its-kind food museum in New York.

Desired Qualifications

 You are proficient in the following:
o HTML/CSS
o Javascript
o Optimization of websites for mobile viewing

 You have knowledge of the following:
o LESS
o Bootstrap o PHP

 You are comfortable working autonomously and can prioritize tasks without regular supervision.

 You are a tactful and thoughtful communicator, whether via phone, e-mail, or in person.

 You are detail-oriented and highly organized.

 Major plus if you also have web design skills and knowledge of Photoshop!

Tasks
 Maintenance of the MOFAD website including:
o Updating current sections of the site o Re-designing existing sections

 Adding to the site as MOFAD expands programming

 Setting up a blog linked to the MOFAD website. Extra points if you have creative design skills and can create a blog that follows the aesthetic of the MOFAD website.
