Magali Duzant (MFA Photo ’14) will exhibit her live stream projection work 2,096 miles or 3 weeks during the DUMBO Arts Festival this coming weekend, 9/28 and 9/29 from 9-11pm. The project live streams a California sunset, in real time, to a space in NYC.

The installation will be on view in the window of the main event space on the corner of Main and Plymouth St. in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Click here for more details.

The project 2,906 miles or 3 hours collapses distance and the notion of time zones between the East and West Coasts of the US by projecting a live stream of a California sunset into a New York night. In this instance we are allowed to gaze upon the same scene from both coasts. The sun becomes doubled, simultaneously setting on both sides of the continent.
