Are you interested in teaching art to children? This internship is a great opportunity to acquire direct experience. Interns will serve as teaching assistants for K – 5 art classes at an alternative public elementary school in Brooklyn. The school is located in Carroll Gardens and embraces a progressive educational philosophy. Art is integrated into all areas of study and the school has a well developed sustainability program as well. Interns assist in teaching, class prep and also help to install student art work for exhibits at the school. The art teacher at the school is a Parsons alum and has more than 15 years of experience so she is great person to observe and learn from.

The internship is for one semester. Students should plan to work one day per week, either a half or a full school day.
