Campaigns Graphic Designer Intern
The campaigns graphic designer helps to create unique looks and feels for our nation-wide campaigns about the causes teens care about.

Description

Design web and print assets for national cause campaigns and DoSomething.org programs and events
Contribute ideas for DoSomething.org’s graphic design growth, including our microsite redesign
Increase site usability and appeal through design
Help with the creation of visual aids, including infographics and motion graphics for our news blog
Create print materials sent directly to teens
Help create graphic assets for social media
Work on semester-long projects that will be implemented in the organization
Create banner ads to be seen on many various forms of media (print, web, tv, supermarket checkout lines)

Experiences & Benefits (that past interns have had):

Greatly expanded portfolio
Work on national cause campaigns with awesome corporate partners (e.g., Virign Mobile, Aeropostale, Vh1, Staples, Foot Locker)
Work displayed in highly visible locations (e.g., Vh1, Hulu, AOL, movie theaters, a 7-story NASDAQ video screen in Times Square!)
Entirely hands-on experience
No running to get coffee (unless we go together!)
Friendly work environment
Schoolwork comes first

Qualifications:

Proficient in graphic design programs, specifically Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and some Photoshop (After Effects is a plus)
Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS
Outgoing and enthusiastic personality
Knowledge of pop culture and the teens trends of the moment
Excellent communication skills: solid grammar, ability to convey message clearly, good telephone manner
College level or recent graduate preferred

Motion Graphics Intern
The Graphic Design + Motion Graphics intern works closely with our Graphic Designer, Social Media Manager and Video Associate to create promotional pieces in after effects that highlight statistics and facts pertinent to our upcoming campaigns and organization. You’ll be expected to complete three videos by the end of the semester.

Qualifications:

Proficient in graphic design programs, specifically Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and some Photoshop
Proficient in After Effects
Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS a plus, but not mandatory
Outgoing and enthusiastic personality
Knowledge of pop culture and the teens trends of the moment
Excellent communication skills: solid grammar, ability to convey message clearly, good telephone manner
College level or recent graduate preferred

E-mail cover letter, one page resume and names and telephone numbers of 2 references to graphicdesign@dosomething.org with the title “I like to Move It Move It.” Include a 10-20 second piece that has been created in after effects explaining your favorite statistic about teenagers and their behavior. Applications without these elements will not be considered.
