PROXIMITIES addresses the role of light and human connection in our experience of sharing public space in close proximity to others. Despite physical closeness shared among people within a city, crowd, or event, the quality of interpersonal connection varies greatly in response to environmental constraints, technology and social norms. Through a choreographed sequence of high contrast lighting, 40 performers and audio composition, PROXIMITIES create a shifting and evolving space for guests to move in, around & through – reframing our experience of shared space & social engagement.
