Title: Student Assistant – Parsons AMT
Parsons School of Art, Media and Technology seeks a Student Assistant to work between 6 and 15 hours per week in the Fall/Spring semesters, and up to 30 hours per week in the summer semester. The student will assist in coordinating administrative duties for the MFA Photography program, supervised by the Program Administrator.
Job Duties
- Assist Program Administrator with program projects, events, correspondence and archiving;
- Update and maintain contact database of alumni, students and professionals in Google Contacts, Google Drive and MailChimp on an ongoing basis;
- Conduct ongoing research to update contact database;
- Assist in managing social media platforms for the program;
- Update the AMT blog and MFA Photo blog as needed;
- Research for, create and distribute monthly MFA Photo alumni newsletter;
- During summer semester, assist with the MFA Photo Visiting Artist lecture series, studio visits, and maintaining the summer office hours in the Fine Arts building;
- Assist at department events and other projects as needed.
Required Skills
- Experience working with Social Media platforms (Twitter, Facebook pages and groups, Instagram);
- Familiarity with Google Drive;
- Detail-oriented and organized;
- Ability to work independently;
- Multi-tasking for both short- and long-term projects; ability to prioritize ongoing tasks.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with MailChimp or other email marketing software; WordPress;
- Experience using Hootsuite as a social media management platform;
- Current Parsons AMT student (not MFA Photography): Sophomore, Junior first year Graduate Student is preferred;
- The ideal candidate will intend to work through the coming summer semester;
- An interest in art and photography preferred, but not mandatory.
Pay Rate/Hours
$15/hr, 6-15 hrs/week in Fall/Spring semesters; up to 30 hours/week in Summer; Longer spans of work time at once is preferred (ie., full days of availability).
