2009 saw AMT faculty and Illustration Chair Steven Guarnaccia and AMT/Illustration Professor Nora Krug release new iterations of two children’s classics. In The Three Little Pigs (Corraini), Guarnaccia recasts famous architects in the lead roles, while Krug’s Red Riding Hood Redux (Bries), wordlessly retells the original Red Riding Hood tale from multiple perspectives. Last Fall, Parsons Illustration sponsored a panel discussion on this theme, From Adaptation to Mutaion: Contemporary Narrative Artists Remix Popular Culture, moderated by Bill Kartalopouluos and featuring Krug, Parsons Alumus Isabel Samaras, and Parsons alumus and instructor R. Sikoryak.
