First Street Gallery is pleased to announce its winter exhibition, “WinterLight,” a comprehensive exhibition of work by gallery artists. WinterLight not only illuminates a season but can also reveal states of mind. Painters usually are drawn to light like moths to a flame. Some artists observe with acute penetration the way a particular light falls on things, while others are able to retrieve an internal light that captures states of mind. Between these two extremes of the particular and the imaginative depictions of light are the many variables that shed the necessary illumination to see the world.

The following gallery artists will be participating: Jennifer Aldridge, Nancy Balliett, Jessica Bartlet, Sallie Benton, Beverly Brodsky, Sandra Caplan, Mary K. Connelly, Ashley Norwood Cooper, Bill Creevy, Teresa Dunn, Suzi Evalenko, Hank Feeley, Wayne Fields, Wendy Gittler, Rachel Gordon Bernstein, Tim Kennedy, Michele Liebler, Mari Lyons, Rallou Malliarakis, Doretta Miller, Marion Miller, Kathi Packer, Marianne Perry Salas, Tracy Collamore Powers, Nicole McCormick Santiago, Dana Saulnier, and Jane Shoenfeld.

Brodsky teaches painting and color theory in the School of Art, Media, and Technology Parsons The New School University where she has been a teacher for almost thirty-three years.

The exhibition will be presented at First Street Gallery from Wednesday, December 5th through Saturday, December 29th.
