In-House Creative Departments have reached new heights in creativity and award-winning design, rivaling that of their agency contemporaries. Come see three luminaries in the world of in-house creative teams who are leading this revolution.

Julia Hoffmann of the Museum of Modern Art, Johanna Langford of J.Crew and Ji Lee of Facebook have been leading design teams of some of the world’s most respected brands and will talk about the challenges, successes and their passion for designing “in-house”.

Returning for a second year is moderator extraordinaire, Debbie Millman of Sterling Brands, to lend her unique view from the agency side of things as well as keep the discussion flowing.

Johanna grew up hand and hand with the internet at the interactive design firm R/GA. Helping brands like Nike and Target become recognized for their online advertising and experiential ecommerce. She moved to Kate Spade to bring the brand to life online through content and editorial. Currently she is VP of Brand Creative at J.Crew where she oversees a large team editors, designers, copywriters and creative technologists.

Julia worked under Pentagram’s Paula Scher before heading west to join Crispin Porter + Bogusky’s Boulder, CO team of groundbreaking creatives on accounts such as Volkswagen and Burger King. She was lured back to New York City to become The Museum of Modern Art’s Creative Director of marketing and exhibition graphic design, where she currently leads a team of designers.

JI LEE, Facebook

Ji worked as a creative director at Droga 5 and Google Creative Lab. Currently he works at Facebook, helping brands and agencies develop branded campaigns on the world’s biggest social platform. Some of his widely publicized personal projects include the Bubble Project and Word as Image. To view his work, visit
