MEGAN PAETZHOLD

This work, titled Amblyopia, is inspired by a visual impairmentĀ I’ve had since birth of the same name. In simplistic terms, my eyes do not fuse and my brain represses the image from one eye to prevent double vision. The diptychs are created by manipulating the darkslide of a medium format camera and creating double exposures, while the four darker images are created with a binocular pinhole camera I created, shot through my old pair of glasses and exposed to 4×5 color film.
