About This dorkShop: Learn the basics to set up your own WordPress or Drupal content management system (CMS) website. We will cover how to set up a local development site using MAMP/WAMP and tips for using available themes, modules, etc.
Please bring your own laptop loaded with MAMP for Macs or WAMP for Windows.

dorkShops are run by students at Parsons The New School of Design, specifically in the Design and Technology program. We all have unique talents and skill sets that we’d like to share with everyone. We want to introduce you to new things. We want to share our creations with you. We’d like you to share your skills and creations with us.

A wide variety of skill levels are in attendance at each event, but we expect most people to be beginners or need a lot of help. If you have specific projects you need help with, bring them and we’ll try to help answer your questions. Some dorkShops will have advanced breakout sessions depending on the demand.
