Artist Bio

Huan Chen

Huan Chen born and raised in China, she received her BFA degree in studio art from The University of Vermont and her MFA degree in photography from Parsons The New School. Huan is concerned with the development of China and the issues and dilemmas facing by Chinese youth. Her work 'relationship' shows the chaotic relationships of young Chinese students who study abroad and also tries to show the inner thoughts of the Chinese LGBT community. In her latest work, 'Caiyin and Lizhang', she try to explores the distinctions between older and younger people. She capture her grandparents' way of life from a young person's viewpoint and this work acts as a connection between the younger and older generations.She is adept at using sound, video and images to show her work and is addicted to editing and adjustment of photos and videos.
