Storytelling through tattoos

My thesis uses tattooing as a medium to explore storytelling. I created 10 designs, each with their own narrative.

We all have memories that we cherish, and for some, we choose to honor those memories by having them tattooed on us forever. There is a contrast between tattoos and memories. One is permanent and the other is temporary. What memories are you choosing over others to commit to getting tattooed on your body forever? What moment in time do you want to last forever?

I noticed that people who want a tattoo that represents a person, a thing, or a memory usually pick one or two things to represent or remind them of that person, thing, or memory. For example, a common one that I see is choosing the birth flower of a passed loved one. I pushed this idea further. Instead of tattooing that one thing, let’s create a narrative that can represent a memory—permanently memorialize a snapshot in time.
