  • Series of travel postcards depicting the estimated effects of climate change by the year 2100.

  • Statement:

By 2100, Earth will almost certainly experience irreversible impacts from climate change. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), as of August 2021, issued a ‘code red’ warning for ‘human driven global heating’. The IPCC claims there is already irreversible damage from climate change, but if a significant and substantial effort is not made soon the effects will be destructive and deadly. However, the UN Secretary General António Guterres claims it is possible to prevent the earth from warming by an additional 1.5 degrees Farenheit: “Inclusive and green economies, prosperity, and cleaner air and better health are possible for all, if we respond to this crisis with solidarity and courage.”1

By 2100 illustrates the estimated outcomes, based on scientific facts, of climate change by the year 2100 if no extreme and immediate action is taken. Based on scientific estimations and current climate trends, the issue will worsen exponentially unless we act, not react, accordingly. With determination, persistence, and dedication, we can hold those accountable who have the power to legislate and create substantial change – and by doing so, hopefully we can create a future where these postcards will be guaranteed fiction instead of a very likely reality.
